Extra Credit Opportunity: You will be learning about the role African Griots played in their medieval societies. African griots can be compared to storytellers. They were important individuals to their societies because they had the responsible for passing on the history and culture of their people. Many African societies did not have a written language. WIthout griots, their history and culture had to possibility of being forgotten. Griots were important because they preserved their peoples history and culture.
You will be reading two stories and watching one video. African stories often had morals and lessons to their stories. They wanted their children and their people to grow up with morals and values. After reading the two stories below, you will need to write down the morals and values of the story. The third story is a video of King Midas and the Golden touch; you will be writing down the

2. Write the message, moral, value, or lesson, of the story
3. Watch the video, King Midas and the Golden touch. Document the message on the same PDF you are using for the assignment; it's the one below.
4. Make a video of one of the four stories. At the end of the video you will need to explain the morals, values, or lesson portrayed in the story or video.
